We offer a comprehensive range of access equipment, including cradles, mastclimbers, and monorails, all available on a flexible weekly hire basis to ensure maximum convenience and value.

We are proud to design and manufacture a complete range of custom components in-house, including our signature X-Beam system. This allows us to create bespoke platform solutions tailored to the needs of complex structures such as facades, bridges, shafts, and silos. Every operative on our team is fully qualified, holding valid CSCS Cards, the relevant NVQ certifications, and IPAF licences, ensuring they meet the highest industry standards for skill and site awareness.
All equipment is rigorously inspected and maintained by certified technicians in strict accordance with the Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations (LOLER) 1998 and all over required regulations. These procedures guarantee that our access systems remain safe, reliable, and fully compliant throughout every project lifecycle.

Kevan Herbert
Managing Director

Kevan Herbert is a respected industry veteran and the founding Director and Owner of Apollo Cradles Ltd, with over 40 years of expertise in suspended access systems and temporary works solutions.

Since establishing Apollo in 1987, Kevan has been the driving force behind its evolution into one of the UK’s leading access providers. Renowned for his hands-on approach and forward-thinking mindset, he has spearheaded innovative projects across the nuclear, construction, and utilities sectors, including the development of pioneering safety systems such as FallArrescue.

A passionate advocate for safety and workforce development, Kevan has also played a key role in shaping industry standards—most notably through his involvement in creating NVQ qualifications for cradle riggers. His career is defined by operational excellence, a commitment to innovation, and a steadfast dedication to safety and compliance.

Darren Brady
Mastclimber Operations Director – MCIOB TechIOSH

Darren Brady has been a key member of the Apollo Cradles team since 2010, serving as Operations Director and leading the mast climber division. With over 14 years in the role, Darren brings deep expertise in project coordination, operational performance, and upholding the highest standards of safety.

Known for his practical approach and strong leadership, Darren is passionate about creating safe, efficient access solutions that deliver real value on site. His commitment to the industry goes beyond Apollo—from 2014 to 2024 he chaired the IPAF UK & Ireland Mast Climbing Work Platform (MCWP) Work Group. In this role, he’s helped shape national best practices through initiatives like improved accident reporting, hands-on case studies, and updated training materials for the sector. He is also a member of the British Standards committee (MHE12.8.2) being involved in the most recent revision of BS7981 (Selection, configuration, installation, maintenance, thorough examination and safe use – Code of practice)

Suspended Access Division Operations Director – MCIOB

Joe Hooper is a seasoned Operations Director with over two decades of experience in the suspended access industry. Having dedicated more than half of his career to Apollo Cradles, he has been instrumental in driving the company’s operational success and reputation for excellence.

Renowned for his strategic leadership and in-depth technical knowledge, Joe has led numerous complex projects across a wide range of sectors—always with a clear focus on safety, compliance, and operational efficiency.

His strengths lie in detailed planning, team development, and the delivery of innovative access solutions tailored to high-risk environments. Joe’s commitment to continuous improvement and high-performance standards continues to enhance client satisfaction and strengthen Apollo’s position as an industry leader.
