Humber Bridge Maintenance

The construction of the Humber Bridge near Kingston upon Hull which spans the Humber estuary began in 1972 and proceeded for eight years, during which time many thousands of tonnes of steel and concrete were used.With a span of 1410m, the bridge was the longest single-span suspension bridge in the world for 16 years.
Regular maintenance and inspection is conducted on the bridge and its 44,000 miles of suspension cable and for this task Apollo Cradles were approached to supply and install a rig and suspended cradles.
